Acknowledgement of Country
In the spirit of reconciliation the business collection
acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
This issue is one that sits so close to our hearts it hurts.
We sat collectively as a team back in June 2020 to discuss how we, "The Modern Voice for Women All Across Australia" could speak up and move away from the idea of "being a voice for others" and becoming a "platform for others."
A conversation was started with our dear friend Dixie Crawford around how we could approach the conversation and give our Aboriginal and Torres Strait community the platform and confidence to share their stories, their truths and their trauma to educate our readers and move towards creating a better tomorrow. We had the concept "Never Stand Alone" when Dixie challenged our way of thinking and said, "I like never stand alone, but never stand in silence is better."
The whole journey of NSIS has grown not only our whole team but our whole community to Educate, Listen, Acknowledge and be better.
We faced many struggles with this issue trying to convince women and men from Indigenous communities around Australia that their stories are worth being heard, they are inspiring and that they weren't a token of "anti-racism" they were the start of a new generation of fighting for equality and equity.
We The Business Collection, encourage our community to read this monumental issue of The Business Collection Magazine where we break barriers, break stigma's and encourage women to stand together by having conversations that revolutionise the way we think and act.
All proceeds from this issue are being donated to @theglenrehab to assist in their new build to create The Glen for Women. You can learn more about The Glen here.
